Claude Code's "extended thinking" is a summary- not authentic thinking

Claude Code records session logs with thinking blocks, but the extended thinking output is a summary of the model's reasoning, not the actual logic that drove actions. Inspecting the logs revealed a 600-character signature and no text. This data loss undermines audit trail promises.
