Tesla owner fixes common feature complaint with crafty DIY retrofit

Software engineer Michał Gapiński retrofitted his U.S.-built Model Y with the cooled wireless charger pad from the China-made Model YL. The U.S. pad lacks active cooling, causing phones to overheat and stop charging within 20 to 30 minutes. The Model YL pad includes a small fan and costs under $200. The connector matches, but coding is required for full functionality.
