Former DeepMind Lead Launches AI Firm

Thore Graepel, a former Google DeepMind researcher and AlphaGo co-creator, launches London-based AI company Metis Reasoning today. The 12-strong team includes experts from Boeing and Cambridge Consultants. The firm raises tens of millions of dollars to pursue compute-efficient AI reasoning, arguing current frontier models lack audit trails and are too expensive.
