Americans Turn Against AI Data Centers

Pew Research Center polling of more than 10,500 US adults finds 54% now say data centers are mostly bad for the environment, up from 39% in January 2026. Half cite harm to home energy costs and 49% to quality of life. Negative views rose across both parties as midterm elections approach and states impose temporary bans.
