Sony ends physical PlayStation game disc production in 2028

Sony Interactive Entertainment will discontinue physical game disc production for all new PlayStation games starting January 2028. New releases will be available only through PlayStation Store or at retailers in digital formats. The company cited shifting consumer preference toward digital media as the reason for the transition.
