Routine cyber testing revealed that cameras intended for Royal Navy drones contained Chinese-made components sending automated 'heartbeat' signals to an IP address in China. The Ministry of Defence confirmed no data was exfiltrated, but the incident exposed a supply chain vulnerability. Internet connectivity to the affected subsystems was removed and the vulnerabilities were closed.
