Canada proposes social media ban for under-16

Canada introduced Bill C-34, the Safe Social Media Act, banning social media for users under 16. The bill creates the Canadian Digital Safety Commission to enforce safety standards. Fines reach 3% of global revenue or $10 million. Regulations could take effect 6 to 8 months after royal assent.
