Lines of Code Got a Better Publicist

The industry replaced lines of code with "percent of code written by AI" as a developer productivity metric. Both are volume claims that say nothing about business outcomes. GitHub previously measured developer task completion speed, a falsifiable outcome claim. Current AI vendor metrics cannot fail because they track adoption, not value.
