A team led by Pan Jianwei and Zhang Qiang at USTC published results on October 13 showing a 28.8% efficiency for 393nm-to-1550nm conversion. This achievement suppresses pump noise to 35 counts per second, which is 30 times more efficient than previous work. The module supports long-distance entanglement experiments with calcium-40 ion qubits, reaching a signal-to-noise ratio of 120 to 1.
