OpenAI Adds Optional Text Watermarking to API

OpenAI announced Monday that developers can opt in to textGrain watermarking for its API, keeping the feature off by default unlike Anthropic. The company plans to automatically watermark eligible ChatGPT and Codex text in the EU starting in coming weeks to meet EU AI Act requirements.
