Steganography at scale: Embedding share URLs in Datadog widget screenshots

Datadog built a system to invisibly embed widget metadata inside screenshots using pixel-level encoding. The encoding survives color profiles, display densities, and copy-paste workflows. Screenshots lose time range, query, and visualization type; the embedded data restores that context without changing the image's appearance.
