Valve admits Steam Machine costs more than hoped

Valve engineer Yazan Aldehayyat told Rock Paper Shotgun that the Steam Machine's component, manufacturing, and shipping costs make it more expensive than the company wanted. Designer Lawrence Yang added that component prices are too high and components too rare to hit the desired price point.
