Volvo Autonomous Solutions announced its driverless ultra heavy-duty trucks and mining equipment hauled their 3 millionth tonne of material at Boliden's Garpenberg mine in Sweden earlier this summer. The fleet, deployed with Boliden and Brønnøy Kalk since 2023, passed its original 1 million tonne pilot goal. Volvo markets the bundled Autona/earth service as a complete autonomous hauling solution for mines and quarries.
