Yahoo CEO Jim Lanzone said at HumanX in Amsterdam that micropayment deals will never pay publishers enough, and Yahoo will keep links in its AI answer engine Scout. Scout, launched in beta in January, runs on Anthropic's Claude and Microsoft Bing's grounding API. Lanzone favors search advertising with a new paragraph-style layout, expecting fewer clicks but better conversion.
