Spain and Portugal firms are investing in battery storage after an April 2025 blackout caused widespread chaos. Spanish meat processor Fribin lost hundreds of thousands of euros and installed two 5MWh modules. Spain's battery capacity rose from 28MW to 193MW by April 2026.
