Most accelerators hurt startups, study finds

A working paper by Youn Baek and Deepak Hegde of NYU Stern examined nearly 750,000 American startups across 329 programs. Between 60 and 80 percent of accelerators leave companies worse off, while Y Combinator, Techstars, and Endless Frontier Labs raise funding and growth.
