Albanese Urges AI Regulation After Medicare Hack

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese told the UN General Assembly that the AI hack of Medicare shows why artificial intelligence needs stronger regulation. He said nations cannot ignore or prevent AI, and that Australia joined other countries this week in calling for action to shape its development rather than be passively shaped by it. He also pitched Australia for a UN Security Council seat.
