Claude and GPT-5.5 fail at 3D print design in opposite ways

Adam Conway asked Claude Opus 4.8 and GPT-5.5 to design 3D printable parts by writing OpenSCAD scripts instead of generating shapes directly. Both models produced code that often looked correct but failed in opposite ways, with errors that were not obvious until closer inspection.
