Muju Earth's Aeropod Automates Soil Aeration

Muju Earth has developed the Aeropod, a fingernail-sized device that farmers sow alongside seeds to aerate soil without tilling. It bursts open when exposed to temperature, pressure and moisture, cutting tilling costs to about £100 per hectare from £250 to £400. Paid field trials with nine UK onion farmers begin this fall, with more than 30 on a waitlist.
