Italy and Spain have both extended reciprocal border checks on travelers from each other for another 15 days. The standoff began after Italy suspended Schengen arrangements on July 31 following a surge of over 72,000 migrants into Spain's Ceuta territory from Morocco. Spain responded with its own retaliatory checks on August 8.
