Andrew Losowsky at The Markup and CalMatters posted an engineering role and received over 400 applications within 12 hours. Many were inauthentic, flagged by red flags like AI-generated answers. The ad was removed from ZipRecruiter, Glassdoor, and Indeed.co after less than a day.
