Holcim Installs Two Thermal Batteries at Cement Plant

Holcim has integrated two Joule Hive thermal batteries from Electrified Thermal Solutions (ETS) into its cement manufacturing facility. The batteries, developed by the MIT spin-off, are designed to replace fossil fuels in high-temperature industrial processes. This deployment marks a significant step in decarbonizing heavy industry, which accounts for roughly 20% of global energy consumption.
