Google updated Google Vids to let users create a custom digital avatar from a selfie and voice recording. The tool now integrates the Gemini Omni multi-modal AI model, enabling video creation from text prompts and reference images. Omni supports background swaps, lighting fixes, and step-by-step edits. The avatars are watermarked with SynthID and limited to users 18 and older in certain regions.
