p5.js developer Dave Pagurek has implemented compute shaders in the library's experimental WebGPU build, extending its p5.strands shader system. The goal is scaffolded GPU learning: users familiar with basic p5.js can write fragment and vertex shaders without first learning the shader pipeline, uniforms or varying variables. Storage buffers now let particles move independently. WebGPU support is required in Chrome or Firefox.
