Brazil introduces temporary duty exemption for EV assembly kits

Brazil will allow duty-free imports of CKD and SKD EV assembly kits from July to December 2026, up to €463m in goods value. The policy primarily benefits BYD and GM's Chevrolet. From January 2027, the duty rate rises to 35 percent for all kits.
