The second wave of MCP: Building for LLMs, not developers

The first MCP wave shipped thin wrappers around existing APIs. LLMs do not reuse past code or keep long-term state, so low-level wrappers cause repeated orchestration and wasted effort. MCP works best when tools handle complete user intentions, like one tool that deploys a project end-to-end.
