SuperAgers stay sharp via learning and social ties

Northwestern researchers tracking nearly 300 SuperAgers since 2000 found warm relationships and busy calendars, not healthy habits, distinguish them. The Synapse Project showed only difficult learning improved episodic memory. The Lancet estimates 45% of dementia cases are preventable through 14 modifiable risk factors, including social isolation.
