Huawei launched the Mate XT 2 tri-fold, on sale in China 10 September, two days before Apple's expected foldable iPhone event. The phone runs a Kirin 9050 Pro chip on Huawei's own process. Xiaomi's 18 Fold also uses proprietary silicon, signaling domestic chip progress under export controls.
