Google will begin carrying third-party Android app stores inside Google Play on July 22, following a joint withdrawal by Google and Epic Games of their attempt to modify a court injunction. The move stems from Judge James Donato's 2024 ruling that Google must share its app catalog and allow rival stores. Google will charge stores a $5,000 annual fee for security reviews.
