Samsung SDI and GM partner on EV batteries

Samsung SDI partnered with General Motors to develop high-energy-density prismatic batteries for GM's next-gen EVs. Samsung also acquired GM's 49.99% stake in their Synergy Cells partnership, gaining the first independently operated battery plant in North America, currently under construction in New Carlisle, Indiana.
