Xbox Cuts 268 Jobs, Moves Halo to Activision

Microsoft is cutting 268 roles across Xbox and handing the next mainline Halo game to a new Activision team separate from Call of Duty. Halo Studios, formerly 343 Industries, is effectively closing, with a small group supporting existing games. Ninja Theory closes after two sale agreements collapsed, and Arkane Lyon enters consultation through the end of 2026.
