Samsung nears completion of second Texas chip fab

Samsung has completed much of the foundational work on its second chip fab in Taylor, Texas, ahead of the first fab's opening. Taylor Mayor Jim Buzan confirmed the progress. Samsung awaits $4.745 billion in CHIPS Act funds granted in 2024. Fab 1 trial production may begin next month.
