Trump Administration Reportedly on Verge of Standards Deal With Big AI

The Trump Administration and major U.S. frontier AI companies are expected to announce voluntary AI standards as early as next week. The deal focuses on cybersecurity capabilities for frontier models. CAISI under the Commerce Department and the NSA will centralize the standards. The White House previously issued an export control directive against Anthropic in June.
