OpenAI launches GPT-Image-2.6 Flare and Sunburst models for developers. The update generates images 50% faster than before and adds GIF output, SVG export, and markup-guided edits. Flare returns an image in as little as 6 seconds at low quality. The closed weights API runs on OpenAI-hosted platforms only.
