Cloudflare launched K2 in public beta, a serverless event streaming service built on R2 object storage. It stores events as an ordered log for independent consumers, scaling to vast data with long-term retention. Available to Workers Paid accounts, usage is free during beta. Cloudflare built K2 for its own Pipelines ingestion, avoiding Kafka due to edge infrastructure constraints.
