Cloudflare to Issue Post-Quantum Certificates by 2027

Cloudflare is becoming a certificate authority and will issue Merkle Tree Certificates, a post-quantum format, targeting early 2027 for Chrome's Quantum-resistant Root Store. Standard MTC issuance will be free. The company says post-quantum signatures would balloon certificate transparency log storage by 40x, making the current system unscalable.
