Medicaid Cuts Will Increase Cancer Deaths

The Big Beautiful Budget Act will cause 7.5 million people to lose Medicaid coverage over two years. This will lead to approximately 400,000 missing mammograms, 675,000 forgoing colon cancer screenings, and 70,000 missing lung cancer screenings. Thousands will develop advanced, incurable cancers that could have been detected earlier.
