OpenAI banned Russian ChatGPT accounts that used VPNs to run an influence operation promoting the International Burke Institute across Substack, Telegram, X, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Of 36 sampled articles, 34 were copied from real academics, some misattributed to Francis Fukuyama and Noam Chomsky.
