FDA Approves First Broad RAS Inhibitor for Pancreatic Cancer

The FDA approved Rasonque (daraxonrasib) in late August for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma after at least one prior therapy. In a 500-person trial, median survival was 13.2 months versus 6.7 on chemotherapy. About 90% of pancreatic cancers carry RAS mutations, which this first-in-class RAS(ON) inhibitor targets broadly. A phase III frontline trial is underway.
