FBI Warns FortiBleed Remains Active

The FBI and Secret Service warn that the FortiBleed credential harvesting campaign remains active as of June 19, 2026. The Russian-speaking operation netted 86,644 working device credentials spanning 194 countries. Attackers target internet-facing Fortinet FortiGate firewalls and SSL VPN gateways using reused or leaked credentials. The campaign exploits legacy SHA-256 password storage to harvest and crack authentication data at scale.
