27 companies and trade bodies have signed the Streaming Integrity Initiative, launched by IFPI on September 14. The voluntary commitments require distributors to verify customer identity, vet content for AI and infringement before distribution, detect streaming anomalies, share fraud indicators across platforms, and measure effectiveness. The initiative shifts fraud detection responsibility from streaming services to distributors, aiming to stop fraudulent and AI-generated content before it enters the royalty pool.
