A draft of the New Orleans Police Department's drone manual allowed equipping drones with weapons with written approval from the Superintendent. The current version, published July 1, bans weapons. NOPD says the earlier version was a draft. Skydio, which sells NOPD drones, previously opposed weaponizing drones but CEO Adam Bry recently walked that stance back.
