OpenAI bans China-linked ChatGPT influence campaigns

OpenAI banned two clusters of ChatGPT accounts operating from China that ran covert influence campaigns. One cluster, "Data Center Bandwagon," produced comic strips blaming AI data centers for rising household electricity bills. A second cluster, "Tech and Tariffs," generated anti-tariff cartoons. The activity generated virtually no authentic engagement.
