Amazon has released an AI upgrade for its Proteus warehouse robot allowing workers to assign tasks using plain language. The robot, which resembles a heavy-duty Roomba, can now navigate beyond dock areas and transport containers throughout warehouses. Amazon says the update supports rather than replaces human workers. Scott Dresser, Amazon Robotics VP, stated the robot figures out priority, route, and timing when told what to do. The design remains unchanged from the 2022 original Proteus model.
