Meta AI Data Center Linked to Rare Bacteria

A rare bacterium, Cupriavidus gilardii, was detected in Cheyenne, Wyoming's reclaimed water system after wastewater from a Meta AI data center's commissioning entered the network. The bacterium was not found in drinking water, but officials feared aerosolized exposure in public areas. This is the first reported microbial contamination linked to an AI data center.
