EV peak horsepower can be 400 percent higher than a car's rated continuous hp. The Porsche Taycan Turbo GT lists 778 hp, but Launch Control hits 1,019 hp and Overboost briefly unlocks 1,093 hp for two seconds. German registration documents use a 30-minute power figure, showing just 220 hp for the Taycan.
