Apple Vision Pro head departs for OpenAI hardware role

Apple VP Paul Meade, who led the Vision Products Group for seven years, is leaving next week to start OpenAI's hardware division. OpenAI has been developing AI-powered devices with Jony Ive's startup since 2025. Fletcher Rothkopf will take over many of Meade's responsibilities at Apple.
