Hacker turns 25 cents into 46 billion fake BTC tokens

An attacker exploited two software flaws in Symbiosis' Bitcoin Bridge to create 46.1 billion unbacked syBTC tokens from a 330-satoshi deposit. The exploit involved 12 bogus deposits across BNB Chain, Ethereum, and Rootstock in about four minutes. Symbiosis estimates losses at 9.97 BTC, or roughly $770,000, and has taken the bridge offline for a rewrite and audit.
