GitHub user Lj545 released the TravelFrame project using an ESP32 microcontroller and a 7.5-inch 800x400 e-Ink display to track travel progress. The device fills black on a world map for every country or US state the owner has visited while counting total destinations at the lower left corner. A web app manages locations, allowing the frame to poll a server every thirty seconds and update only when changes occur. The top right section displays estimated time of arrival for upcoming trips alongside simple weather data for destination countries.
