A self-destructing backdoor called Mistic has been used since April to compromise corporate networks in insurance, education, IT, and professional services. Symantec and Carbon Black link Mistic to initial access broker KongTuke, which sells footholds to ransomware gangs including Qilin, Interlock, Rhysida, Akira, 8Base, and Black Basta.
